The 8th Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM), Telangana State Chapter, was successfully organized by the Department of Pathology, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, on the 13th and 14th of September 2025. Remarkably, Osmania Medical College hosted the conference for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its reputation as a center of academic and research excellence in the field of pathology.
The two-day scientific event brought together eminent faculty, consultant pathologists and nd postgraduate students from across the Telangana State. The conference featured keynote lectures, symposium, paper and poster presentations covering a wide array of topics in histopathology, hematology, cytology, oncopathology, molecular diagnostics, and Artificial Intelligence in Pathology. Around 170 posters presentations and 110 paper presentations including award papers were presented in the due period of two day conference.
A major highlight of the conference was the presence of eminent speakers from Tata Medical Center, Mumbai and Kolkata, who delivered highly informative lectures on brain tumors, urinary bladder tumors, pediatric tumors, and lymphomas. Their sessions were widely appreciated for their depth of content and clinical relevance, offering participants valuable insights into the diagnostic nuances and evolving management strategies of these challenging conditions.
The inaugural session commenced with great enthusiasm in the presence of distinguished guests and senior faculty members. Dr.Narendra Kumar Are garu, Director of Medical Education the occasion and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the vital role of pathologists in patient care and research advancement. Dr.Naval Kishore, Organizing Chairperson, Dr.J.Anunayi , Organizing Secretary and Dr.Ather Fatima, Treasurer welcomed the delegates and expressed gratitude to IAPM for once again entrusting Osmania Medical College with the honor of hosting this prestigious conference.
Postgraduate students actively participated in award papers, proffered papers and poster presentation sessions, showcasing their research work and innovative case reports. The sessions fostered engaging discussions and provided a platform for young researchers to receive constructive feedback from experts. The best papers and posters were recognized with awards, encouraging continued academic pursuit and excellence.
